The way one would appear would be one of importance. Roman society believed natural hair was a lack of civilizations and was close to barbarians (Bartman). Hair styles worn be Roman women were elaborate and show one’s individual personality. Hair was important but also a lady’s clothes was one of importance. She would dress in white, natural, plain clothes (Thesleff). As with the other societies a woman primary job was to take care of the home and her husband. She was not allowed to go out at night her errands and religious ceremonies she would have to go during the day. She was seen to have possessed courage and intelligence but the man still above her in status. Roman women were ones of great courage and had the advantage of being able to self-expressed herself with her hair style choice. All three of these societies had their unique customs and standards of a woman. Some of the similarities they shared were the status of a women in their society. All seen a female as being less of a person than a male. Each differed in the way a woman was seen different, Greek and Roman women were seen as people that had a small voice but her husband still ruled over her and the family. China had very brutal rituals and did not allow for a woman to self-express or have an opinion of her own. She was ruled with an iron fist and was not allowed to have a voice with any aspect of her own
