Moment 1 Act 4 Scene 2 “Wrong Baby Daddy” This scene is right after Tamara has had her child, who everyone believes was Saturninus’s son. However given the babies dark complexion it is easy for them to conclude it is Aaron the Moor’s child. The nurse who helped deliver the baby immediately comes to alert Aaron of this awful doing. Chiron and Demetrius, who happened to be there with Aaron praying for their mothers well being, are outraged when they discover that he, a trusted consultant, “have done thy mother” (Barbara 137) . Aaron is leading them in a prayer, suddenly, trumpets that are heard off stage interrupt their prayer and they immediately stand, as trumpets always introduce the royal company. Here the lights will dim and a green light shines on the gate to symbolize the importance and the new beginning of this newborn baby. After the nurse enters, rushing and out of breathe from the gate, Chiron and Demetrius are first to approach her to try and see their new baby brother. The baby, however, will be completely covered up, as she is trying to hide the shame of the Queen. They meet up at DC, Aaron staying right of them. The knife Titus used to slit their throats will have a little packet of blood or red paint (whichever is more convenient) which he can squeeze to look like blood; and the dimmed lighting will make this even more convincing. There will just be two buckets UC as the set for this part.
The next part however will have a backdrop come down, and it’ll just illuminate a solid blue color while the stage is being set. This set will include a long table, enough to fit six people on one side, with beautiful golden candles and silverware, along with three red table runners placed vertically so that it hangs down towards the audience. Once the stage is set, the blue background will switch to red, causing the table to look like a silhouette. Here, this red background will stay on with only the center of the apron being lit. This is to show the evil and murderous tone for the rest of the scene, as it is here Lucius and Marcus decide how Aaron the Moor is put to his death. Next once they exit, you hear trumpets, which will be the cue for the background to turn off and all the lights to come
