There was a TV channel which had several cartoon series in every Saturday morning. Doraemon was the first one and it was at 7.00 am. I was always excited when Doraemon song came on. I did this routine for 6 years, grade 1 to grade 6. Even though some episodes were the same as I had watched, I still love to watch them again and again. Another reason I watched Doraemon because every kids did. If I did not watch, I would not have a topic to talk to anybody at school in Monday morning. Doraemon appeared in Thailand in 1981 as a Japanese manga. Doraemon was changed the title to Do-Ra-Mon: The Naughty Cat. It was translated in Thai and published a volume per month. Due to its popularity, Doraemon was published three volumes per month and each time, they sold more than 70,000 copies. As a result, all Doraemon volumes which took Fujiko F. Fujio wrote them for 10 years, were released out in 7-8 months in Thailand. Beyond that, Doraemon was published on Thai Rhat, the biggest newspaper at that time, on July 29, 1982. This was the first time that Japanese manga appeared on Thai newspaper. Doraemon was a huge phenomenon. Azona, a Thai record label, conducted a singing competition with 6 different versions of Doraemon song in Thai. Doraemon is still popular among Thai people today, even though it is not that much as in the past. Most all cartoon series in Thailand are from Japan, so Japanese culture normally shown in animation are familiar for Thai kids, especially 90’s kids. Children can learn what Japanese culture is, what the difference between Thai and Japanese. I think those Japanese cartoons, not only Doraemon have influence Thai society since all animations that we could find to in 90’s came from Japan. People view Japan as a cute and cool country, so it is not surprising that Japan is the country Thai travel to the most in 2015. Similar to Doraemon

The Debut (2000) was a film presenting the positive aspects of the Filipino culture, using the real problems and relatable issues that teenagers face. This film is one of the first films I’ve viewed which portrays an Asian culture as what it truly is. Unlike many other films and scenes in Hollywood cinema, this film did not use negative stereotypes or derogatory topics as its main base. Director Gene Cajayon is from the Filipino agency and grew up in its heritage; this reflects on the films true use of Tagalog, traditions, relationships, and cultural values. What was particularly enjoyable was the scenes of dancing and singing that are accurate presentations of the Tinikling dance with string instruments.…

For example, I used to work at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and a lot of the college program kids were from Asian countries like Hong Kong and China.…

Juvenile delinquency rates are also low; a factor contributing to low juvenile delinquency rates is socialization.
