The average for an American family consist 3 members (Miller 74). The American family would be extremely isolated from one another. You will probably find the children watching television or on the computer surfing the web, playing games, and so forth. In the Amish family, everybody would be together by eating, working, going to church and playing. The Amish usually keeps there equipment very basic. The Amish culture is one of the multiple cultural groups that are subject to ethnocentrism in today. They are judged by their appearance, the way they dress, their customs and beliefs. They are additionally judged on extremely questionable things, for example, dismissing the thought of having a car, the way there culture set the standards on marriages, and finally the dark colored clothing and garments they wear (Rosado).
