They would put people in different parts of the ship depending on their social class. Once they made it to Ellis Island they had to go through a extremely intense health inspection. They were very harsh and intense when it came it to health inspection. They would check almost every part of the body from eyelids to make sure u didn’t have a cold. There was two common categories you would be put into if one of the health inspectors questioned your health. There was Class A where they would put the dangerous contagious diseases. There was also Class B diseases and conditions that would led an immigrant to likely to become a public charge. Class A conditions included mental conditions such as insanity and epilepsy. (Bateman-House) If any of the inspectors even saw you cough there was a chance you wouldn’t even make it through the health inspection. In my cartoon it shows a kaotic group of people from all over. Some are from Poland and others from Italy coming and waiting in line just come to America finally. Children would get separated
