Every country has a unique common heritage or joint experience. Therefore culture can be defined as the complex system of values, traits, morals shared by society. All the choices we make reveal something about our personality, surrounding and our upbringing influences these choices. The way we speak, dress, the food we eat, the music we listen to tells allot about us and how we came to be. Everywhere we look in America we can see different cultural signs. But does America realy have a culture? A variety of different arguments have been put forward about this issue. I will begin with food. First of all, Americans brought hamburgers and Coca-Cola to the world. Moreover, America’s either invented or popularized cheese steaks, corn dogs, cotton candy, corn on the cob, doughnuts, fried chicken, hot dogs, ice cream cones, mashed potatoes, onion rings, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, popcorn, potato chips, shoofly pie, submarine sandwiches, and other dishes. This list proves that Americans have planty of dishes that are unique. American cuisine is not very nutritious. The point is that Americans invented plenty of dishes. Besides, it’s impossible to find any national cuisine that is hundred percent healthy. Secondly Americans, by and large, are often fascinated by new technology and new gadgets. Many of the new technological innovations in the modern world were either first invented in the United States and/or first widely adopted by Americans. Examples are: automobiles, personal computers, the Internet, online shopping, and the iPod. There are also many within the United States that share the attitude that through technology many of the evils in the society can be cured. Finally, people say that America has no history so she can’t have culture . Although Eurasians were better at documenting their ancient history than Americans were, it doesn’t mean that Americans don’t have any history.
