- obtain the train authority and sign the butt of the form - receive the fix signal to enter the section - Proceed at normal speed to a distance of 2 km from the disabled train - Stop the train and endorse the data logger VC x 2 - Proceed max 15 km/h to the driver - pick up the driver proceed max 15 km/h - obtain the DRA from the driver and cancel it by writing CANCELLED, time, date and signature on form - take possession of the train staff from the driver of the disabled train - Ensure trains are coupled together and conduct a continuity test - Ensure the train can be controlled by the brake in the leading cab - Communicate with competent worker before moving train - Obtain the permission of the train controller prior to moving the train The driver must hand the train authority, canceled DRA and train staff to the signaller who will observe the train has arrived complete and cancel the train Authority. If the location is unattended the driver must cancel the train authority and notify the train controller that they have arrived complete. |

When the driver of the disabled train dictates the DRA to the train controller the details will be taken down and used to compile written instructions for the relief train. The driver of the relief train will be issued with the train staff and written instructions containing the information from the DRA. The written instructions are completed in duplicate. The train staff and written instructions are the authority to enter the section. The written instructions will state to which end of the section the the disabled train is to be taken. |

If the relief train is to come from the station in the advance the train staff is held at the location in the rear, and the driver of the relief train will be issued with a train authority. When the driver of the disabled train dictates the DRA to the train controller the details will be taken down and used to compile a train authority. The end of the section to which the disabled train is to be taken will be stated on the train authority. Also stated on the train authority is the fact that the train staff is locked away at the staff station in the rear. The train controller will dictate the train authority to the signaller at the end of the section from which the relief train is to depart. The signaller will issue the train authority to the driver of the relief train, it must be signed for by the driver on the butt of the form. |
