What's the difference?
Statistics is the science of dealing with data.
A statistic is simply a datum.
What are the two groups of data?
To that end, which group is more heavily focused in Statistics?
Numerical and categorical.
Numerical is clearly more focused.
Data deal with what kind of numbers?
Numbers in context (i.e. 15 oz., 24 lbs., etc.)

What are Inferential Statistics?

How are population and sample related?
A sample is a subset of the population.
Observational study:
A passive observation; relies on sampling.
Designed Experiment:
An active experiment; can help establish causation.
