Document A-social Hierarchy
Samurai- warriors who owned loyalty and military service to daimyos for land or regular payment with families made up about 10% of japans population.
Knight- warriors who owed loyalty and military service to lord for land; estimated 12,000 knights in England and nor many France in the 12th century.- document A.
Based on document A Knights and samurai were similar because they both owed loyalty and military service and they got land for their families as payment for this service. To be a good samurai or knight you would absolutely be very loyal to your lord.
Document B-Social Hierarchy
samurai's had allegiance to his lord, and loyalty towards the feudal lord in japan was hereditary.

For a knight English or noblemen knelt before his lord and pledged loyalty and military support, lord swore and oath of protection.
Based on document B knights and both samurai's were both very similar. Such as Both the knight and the samurai pledged loyalty and military service. Secondly samurai's and knights swore on an oath to their lords. samurais and knights had to be very loyal to be a good samurai or knight. Also to be a good samurai or knight you would have to have good military service.
document C- Military training and armor
A samurai began training in childhood and had to do three different things while becoming a samurai.

A knight began training at age four or five, had to do three different tasks to become a knight.
Based on document C their were similarities between knights and samurai's. Such as both samurai and knight both went through three different kinds of training. First of all a samurai did kendo, the moral code of a samurai, and zen Buddhism. For a knight it was first to ride a pony, to serve and overlord as a page,and to become a squire. lastly both a knight and samurai began training when they were little like hr age four or five.
Document D- military training and armor
A Samurai wore full plate armor which was head to toe and had a dis advantage which was: when it became very wet the silk cords absorbed water and became very heavy.

A knight wore complete suits of armor, and a knights armor could weigh 40 to 60 pounds.
Based on document D samurai and knights had many similarities in armor. first of all samurai and knights both had a disadvantage in armor. If a samurai fell in a puddle or water it would be hard to fight because the armor absorbs the water and becomes heavy. Also a knights armor weighs 40 to 60 pounds. lastly a samurai and knight ave full suits from head to toe.
Document E- feelings about honor and death
A knight took the vows of true knighthood, solemnly promising to do no wicked deed, to be loyal to the king .

A samurai In dis charging loyal service to his master if he has one in deepening his fidelity in associations with friends and in devoting himself to duty above all.
Based on document E there were a lot of similarities in samurai and knights. First of all a samurai and knight had to be loyal to his king. Also to be respectful and full of courage. Lastly samurai and knights had to be devoted and have courage and to be brave.
Document F - Feelings about honor and death
A samurai wrote a poem just before death to show the influence of zen Buddhism.
A knight had laid down on a steep hill with his face toward Spain and one hand on his breast: " God I acknowledge my guilt and I beg for thy mercy for all sins, greater and lesser, which I have committed from the hour of birth until this day when I lie here and overcome by death.
based on this document (doc F) there were similarities in death. first of all both samurai and knight had poems of death to god asking for forgiveness from their sins. Lastly the only difference was a knight would say their poems instead of writing it.
