What was the Land of Ordidance of 1785?
it was a law passed by congress that set up a system for settling the NorthWest territory. This law called for territory to be surveyed and then divided into townships.
What was Shay's Rebellion?
A rebllion that 2,000 farmers traveled around the state of Massachusettes and attacked courthouses etc because of their debt, the militia had to drive them off and ended the rebellion.
What was the Constitutional Convention and what happened?
A convention held in the summer of 1787 in philidelphia.
55 dlegates form 12 states except Rhode Island, showed up and presented their plans for the goverment
What were the troubles with money and trade?
As a result of borrowing money during the Revolutionary war the nation owed a lot of money. As a result the nation decided to print money, the money then became worthless and states did not want to use it so therefor they made their own money which caused alot of confusion. They also faced alot of troubles because of claiming the western lands and there was not way to settle the dispute
Whats was the Articles of Confederation and what rights did they give to the States and National Government?
The articles of confederation was the first constitution the congress made. They created a firm league of friendship among the 13 states.
Congress could pass laws but had to be approved by at least 9 states. Congress could not regulate ttrade between states and foreign countries and could not pass any laws reaguarding taxes.
What was the differance between the Viginia Plan and the New Jersey plan?
The Virginia Plan was favored more by larger states.It called for a strong national goverenment with 3 branches the executive, judicial and legislative.it also called for a two house legislature. Both houses would be awarded to each state based on the population. The New Jersy Plan called for about the same thing as the Viginia plan except the legislature should only have one house and no matter what the size of the population each state would have the same number of reps.
