Neutrons

Nuetral particles found in the nucleus

Electrons

Negatively charged particles that revolve around the nucleus on orbiting paths and are involved in chemical bonding with other atoms

Ions

Are atoms containing an excess amount of electrons or not enough electrons in their orbiting paths. When atoms decrease in electrons, they are considered positively charged ions. If atoms increase electrons, they develop into negatively charged ions. In order for chemical bonding to occur, ions need stability and therefore seek out other ions, which then connect to form a compound. Some haircolor products are based on this concept, so the artificial pigment is charged opposite the hair structure, therefore pulling the artificial product into the hair
