Adult: 8 to 12 mcg/minute
Dilution ratio: Add 4mg/250 NS (16mcg/mL)

Add 8 mg/500 mL NS (16mcg/mL)
Once BioTel determines Mcg/minute, refer to Drug Drip Chart for Drop/minute.

Pediatric: Not used in prehospital setting
Norepinephrine

Drug Action
Potent peripheral vasoconstrictor (primarily alpha; minimally beta)
Increases myocardial contractility (minimally).
Norepinephrine

Indications
Cardiogenic shock when systolic BP is less than 70 mmHg.

Post resuscitation hypotension after medical CPR's when systolic BP is less than 90mmHg.

Precautions
Assure IV patency; refer to Drug Administration Principles.
Continually monitor BP.
Do not mix with Sodium Bicarbonate; flush tubing well between drugs.

Tissue necrosis with inflatration
