CPR: 1mg IV push; if unable to start IV/IO, administer 2mg via ETT

Anaphylaxis: 0.1 to 0.2 mg slow IV Push (over 1 minute)

CPR: 0.01 mg/kg IV push

Anaphylaxis: 0.01 mg/kg slow IV push (maximum is 0.3 mg per dose)

Bradycardia: 0.01 mg/kg slow IV push (maximum 0.3 mg per dose)

Pediatric: ETT 0.1 mg/kg

Drug Action
Alpha: Peripheral vasoconstriction with increases coronary and cerebral perfusion and increases blood pressure in anaphylaxis.

Beta1: Increases heart rate and improves force of ventricular contractions.

Beta2: Bronchodilation

Indictions:
Cardiac arrest

Anaphylaxis that has not responded to epinephrine 1:1000 SQ

Pediatric bradycardias unresponsive to other treatment

Precautions:
CPR: None

Anaphylaxis: Use cautiously in patients with COPD, CHF history of AMI or heart disease - older than 45 y.o. hypertension, arrhythmias and labor.

Monitor ECG closely, watching for arrhythmias/ pts on beta blockers may need Glucagon or higher doses of epinephrine.

Do not nmix with Sodium Bicarbonate; flush tubing well between drug.
