Cochleovestibular Schwannoma
AKA VIII Nerve Tumor
Signs and Symptoms: Unilateral loss, mild-medium loss (typically high frequency range), vertigo/dizziness, and tinnitus.
Meniere's Disease
Condition that causes fluctuating sensorineural hearing loss.
Cause: Excessive endolymphatic fluid pressure in the membranous labyrinth (causes Reissner's membrane to become distended)
Symptoms: hearing loss, spells of dizziness/vertigo, fullness in the ear, and tinnitus.
Retrocochlear Loss
Damage to the nerve fibers along the ascending auditory pathways from the internal auditory meatus to the cortex.

Damage to the cerebellopontine angle or CN VIII
