What are the components of the integumentary system?

What makes thick and thin skin different?

In thin skin, lucidum is no apparent and has hair follicles, sebaceous glands and arrector pilli muscle. Thick skin is located only on palms, and sole of foot.

What are the components of hair?

Root, shaft, bulb, hair follicle, hair matrix and hair papllar.

What are the components of an hair follicle?

Root hair plexus, sebaceous gland and arrector pilli muscle.

Nail root, body and free edge.

What is the function of the Sebaceous gland?

Secrete sebum.

Sweat glands, cool off body and removes waste.

Produces ear wax, modified sweat glands and are in ear canal.

Produce milk.

Respond to stimuli, such as touch, temp, pain.
