What are the components of the integumentary system? |
Skin, hair, nails, glands, sense receptors and muscle. |

Flat dead cells and only visible only in thick skin. |

30 layers of flat dead cells filled with keratin and shed and replace from below. |

Projections into the epidermis that forms fermal ridges in thick skin. |

CT layers that surround and support organs. |

What makes thick and thin skin different? |
In thin skin, lucidum is no apparent and has hair follicles, sebaceous glands and arrector pilli muscle. Thick skin is located only on palms, and sole of foot. |

Root, shaft, bulb, hair follicle, hair matrix and hair papllar. |

What are the components of an hair follicle? |
Root hair plexus, sebaceous gland and arrector pilli muscle. |

What are the components of Nails? |
Nail root, body and free edge. |

What is the function of the Sebaceous gland? |
Secrete sebum. |

What is the function of sudoriferous gland? |
Sweat glands, cool off body and removes waste. |

What is the function of ceruminous gland? |
Produces ear wax, modified sweat glands and are in ear canal. |

Produce milk. |

Respond to stimuli, such as touch, temp, pain. |
