Describe Frequency hopping:
-SINCGARS has the ability to secure transmission through the use of TRANSMISSION SECURITY KEY AND FREQUENCY HOPPING, to reduce the risk of "threat of JAMMING and DIRECTION FINDING EQUIPMENT"
What are the different range settings on a SINGCARS?
What are the ranges for each?
-LO (low power) 200m-400m
-M (medium power) 400m-5km
-H (high power) 5km-10km
-PA (Power amplifier) 10km-40km
What factors do trasmission range depend on?
SLSW
-surrounding noise level
-location
-sighting
-weather
To assemble a MANPACK, you must first do what?
-check and install the battery.
Steps for installing Primary battery or Battery box to RT:
-INSPECT box for dirt and damage.
-PLACE battery box on RT.
-CHECK battery life condition number (written on battery if battery is not new)
-WRITE down number (for later entry into radio)
-PLACE battery in battery box and mate connector
-SECURE using latches
-CLOSE battery box cover and secure with latches
-Return radio to UPRIGHT position
-If used battery was installed, ENTER the battery life condition into the radio by performing the following steps:

-Set FCTN to LD.
-Press BATT; then CLR.
-Enter number recorded on side of battery.
-Press STO.
-Set FCTN to SQ ON.
Steps for Antenna installation:

Twist which direction?
AUD/DATA connector.
-Right
How is the HANDSET removed?
-Push handset connector in and twist left (counterclockwise)
Vehicular Radio components are installed and removed by who?
-maintenance personnel
