I believe that literal and spiritual immortality are impossible but genetic, memorial, and historical are achievable. In my opinion, literal immortality is impossible from a medical view. This could never happen because the body’s’ organs and muscles would wear out and stop working, for example the heart is a muscle and would eventually stop working over time. Eventually the lubrication in the joints would dry out and moving would be unbearably painful. In addition, the skin would lose elasticity. I also do not believe in spiritual immortality because I do not believe that someone could live forever in heaven.

My dad hated church because he was forced to participate in everything the church allowed him to do; therefore, he had bad experiences with the church and will not go now. I think this contributed to how I feel about immortality a lot because my parents, the people I look up to, believe in evolution.
I do believe that genetic immortality is possible because when humans have children a part of them is passed on to their kids through their DNA. Science has proved that we get characteristics from our parents and then our kids will get characteristics from us, which is also from our parents. Through this, little parts of us will be able to “live” forever through our children.

I also believe that memorial immortality is a way to live forever. If our kids and our friends remember us then we never really die. As long as people are talking about us and remembering us, we will always be alive. By the time everyone we know dies hopefully they will have told other people and we will be able to live through another generation. This leads me to legendary immortality. Legendary immortality is living forever even if it really is not you. People will tell stories about you that will eventually get altered into something that half of you or a third of the real you.

Historical immortality is also good way to be remembered forever. If you play a part in changing humanity, you will always be remembered because you will be part of
