In comparison, both individualism and collectivism focuses on culture. Culture being defined as “expressive practices fraught with feelings, system of symbols, premises, rules, forms, and the domain and dimensions of mutual meanings associated with these”. Donal Carbaugh later insinuate that culture is "a learned set of shared interpretations about beliefs, values, and norms, which affect the behaviors of a relatively large group of people." Through culture individualist and collectivist believes that people are paramount, they want the best for their families, and their compatriot. In both theories they offer remuneration, they are delighted by ingenuity and novelty, they also revere privileges. In addition to the cultural area both individualist and collectivist believes that charity is good. They believe that everyone should have a lenient outlook towards people.
