I believe soda shouldn’t be banned because it decreases the profits of small businesses, it is a violation of our freedoms, and it goes against our rights. In the text “Ban the Ban!” by SidneyAnne Stone has stated “We are a country built on freedom.” The author also says “One day in the distant future we are all gonna wake up in the land of big brother and not the land of the free.” According to the 1st piece of evidence, even though obesity is a big problem in the U.S., people still choose to buy soda even while knowing the disadvantages. If this is their choice, we should respect their decision. This ban would also decrease profits of soda companies such as Coca-Cola and Pepsi.
