The handmaid's tale by Margaret Atwood, a novel narrated by a young woman who has been separated from her husband and daughter, then sent to a brainwashing Center located in Gilead. she is trained to be a hearing aid and it's their duty to serve any one of the hierarchy as birth mother of his children. Atwoods use of language throughout the novel is powerful. Power is created throughout the novel by freedom of speech, religious language, Offred’s language and key phrases /words / symbols.
