The Ottoman Turks developed a new style of mosque after the 1900, when the young Turks took power. The new mosques were called National Architectural Renaissance and took place between 1908 and 1909. The name refers to the Ottoman Revival Style and was intended to encourage Ottoman Turks patriotism and self-identity. The new style was based on modern construction and materials. They began using reinforced concrete, steel and iron and even often incorporated glass roofs. Over 1,000 different gods were worshipped by the Aztecs and they believed in 13 heavens and 9 hells. The Aztecs also believed that the gods controlled all life from the moment you were born until you died. Because of this belief they had to always please the gods. In order to please the gods they would conquer lands and use the people they captured as human sacrifices to earn the gods good graces. They believed that if they fed the sun blood that it would rise again the next day thus resulting in good crops and good weather.
The Aztecs also believed in the afterlife. It was the way the Aztec died not lived that determined the fate of their afterlife. If an Aztec died a normal life, their soul would have to pass through the nine lives of the underworld before reaching the realm of the dead. Women are fighting to achieve equal rights in many parts of Africa but they still have a long way to go. Most women still take the traditional route and look after the home, while the men find jobs outside the home. Women also take on a large amount of household chores such as gathering firewood and tending to the fields. Household chores require an enormous time commitment leaving little time for a woman to take on a full time paying job. In addition, women are normally viewed as the primary caregivers for the sick and elderly.
Girls in Africa are now being offered a good education so they can contribute to the country’s development. When woman are educated they make better diet and nutritional choices which means greater benefits for their children from breast feeding and increased hygiene. This decreases the risk of disease and illness within the family.
