This investigation will closely examine and provide a detailed evaluation and explanation of the role played by Jimmy Carter in the Middle East peace process and will answer the question: For what reasons and in what ways did President Carter mediate the Camp David Accords and set the precedent for future peace agreement between Arab World and Israel ? The primary source which will be evaluated are a biography of the life of Carter, which unfolds in orderly manner the events that led up to Carter’s peaceful diplomatic relation with both faction of the everlasting problem - Arab world and Israel, and a comprehensive historical account about the meeting that resolved the high tension between the arab world and israel at Camp David in 1978.

President carter negotiated the Accords with Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin and Egyptian President Anwar al Sadat setting the framework for middle east peace process. President carter played an instrumental role from the start of his administration to resolve the issue. A stable and an unwavering middle east was the focal point of the Carter administration’s main diplomatic mission. With the diminishing influence of the the Soviet Union, Carter saw this as an opportunity to hopefully pave a way for democracy in the entire middle east and spread the words of freedom and free will.
