To keep from diseases you had to shave your head and all body hair. Voices say "...They would shave your head with scissors and it would be jagged and your scalp would bleed..."(Spielberg 109). Then all prisoners had to be sprayed with a disinfectant spray that made your skin sore and itchy. Then you had to take an extremely cold or painfully hot shower. Then you were given the infamous "Striped Pajama's" a hat and some wooden clogs. The sanitation in the concentration camps is very poor. Roll Call is what you did before and after work. This could take hours for one Roll Call. it was held at least two times a day. you stood their hours at a time and did what you were supposed to do. If you got out of line you were put to death or you stood their until you died of tiredness. Roll Call was used as a punishment to fear the prisoners. You wore very thin clothing in whatever kind of weather -52o or 102o. After you did Roll Call you work. Most prisoners worked outside on German owned properties. A lot of the prisoners worked on farms, coal mines, factories, construction sites etc. Sonderkomondos had one of the worst jobs. Snoderkomondos had to take the dead bodies from the gas chambers and the ones who got shot and buried them. After they were done they were then murdered. On the other hand, you could of had a good job, this "good job" was easy. Kanada Kommando's. Kanada Kommandos was the best job you could have. This job is where you took the belonging of the other Jews from the trains and you took it to a warehouse. After taken to the warehouse, it would have been sorted trough. Some of the Kommandos would steal things in return for food. Although if you got caught you were dead. Sometimes the Kommandos would take things for later on when they are hoping to get out of the holocaust. With this job you had better sleeping conditions and better
