Source G suggests that Rasputin knew that the Tsarina was broken down and weak and so he took advantage of that so that he could fall into power. Rasputin’s power did not only envelop the Tsarina but also the Tsar. This was actually a major cause of the fall of the Romanov Dynasty as Rasputin’s influence led to major havoc in the country due to bad decisions. Rasputin was known to be highly influential and manipulative and the Tsarina was presumed to be weak and desperate and so the influence of Rasputin allowed for the wrong decisions to be made, and after months of suffering that the lower class people endured, a revolution started, which later ended the Romanov Dynasty. Rasputin’s power to heal Alexei won the trust of the Tsar and Tsarina and many people were against this because they did not know why Rasputin was a part of their lives. Source F is a view of what the people believed and it shows Rasputin’s control. The Tsarina is drawn to look up at Rasputin and the Tsar’s eyes are closed symbolising that he is blind to what is presumably going on due to the control and manipulation that Rasputin had over him and the Tsarina. We are then shown the Tsar’s response where he pushes the news aside as if it were a lie. This shows the Tsars lack of care and leadership and also his ignorance. To make things worse and to prove that Tsarina Alexandra was an ineffective leader, Alexandra wrote back to the Tsar saying that it is a ‘hooligan movement’ and states that the situations are not bad, the people are just causing problems and then she blames the DUMA and says that they should behave themselves. This is an example of one of the many broken communications that took place and because of the Tsarina’s letter, nothing was done to help the people and so the people became angrier and turned against the Tsar, all because of the Tsarina’s lie or ignorance. This source is supported by Source C that shows that Alexandra, under the influence of Rasputin, started changing the ministers to people that were good in Rasputin’s eyes. She also followed his ideas and instructions on how to run the country, which caused more turmoil. . Nicholas was advised not to leave for the war, not to let his wife being in charge and he was told of the chaos going on in the country and yet he did not listen to his advisors, but rather listened to his inexperienced wife.
