The Syrian Girl and Toys of War, however, both communicate a similar purpose. War in the eyes of children is the purpose of Toys of War, and kids affected by war are the purpose of Syrian Girl image. Both illustrating that these kids will never be the same. The only small variation is the Syrian Girl image displays its purpose in the past. It dictates the trauma that this four-year-old has experienced in the past. However, in War Toys, by vantage point, war is made light of. Warfare will be normal down the road to these children, they have seen conflict first hand and in play. Whether the tragic experience was in the past in Syrian Girl or present in Toys of War, these children will never be the same.
Hitler in front of his soldiers, Toys of War, and the image of the Syrian Girl all implement various composition techniques. These composition works, however, are all used to show a connecting message. The techniques differ, however, all illustrate a unifying message without the reliance on blood and dead bodies.
