Chen et al. concluded that children diagnosed with ADHD and depression had a greater occurrence of diagnosis conversion later on in life (2015). Researchers also found a positive relationship between boys with ADHD and behavioral disorders being later diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder. With that connection, educators should make sure that they follow the Individualized Education Plan developed by the parents and other professionals necessary for children with Bipolar Disorder. Considering the comorbidity of ADHD and Bipolar Disorder, educators could use similar strategies utilized for ADHD. Educators should have consistent planned and unplanned breaks to allow for greater attention span. The classroom environment should be free from distractions and provide role model students seated close to the student.
