When watching the film, the reader can see how the actors perform specific scenes. I believe that in the film Blanche is the antagonist and Stanley is the protagonist. My reason being is because in the film, Blanche is the one who tries to get inside everyone’s head and over reacts about every situation. In the scene where the men are playing poker, Blanche purposefully stands in the light so they will see her figure. After, when Mitch comes into her bedroom, she turns the radio volume all the way up, even though she knows Stanley does not appreciate the action. Although Blanche did the same actions in the play as the film, the reader can see in the film what Blanche’s intentions really are. In the play, the reader cannot see how Blanche acts in certain situations, and that is why it is easy to jump to the conclusion that Stanley is the antagonist in the play. In the film, the viewer can see that Stanley attempts to keep his distance from Blanche, but she does certain things in his home that he simply does not
