Steven Spielberg is known as a well accredited award winning Director, screenwriter and producer. He is known for major motion films such as “Jaws” “The Color Purple” and
“Schindlers List”. Making a career out in the media business isn’t the easiest to do. Many people even go to college and major in film, journalism, etc. and never get their big break to share their work on big screens or in magazines or even publish a book. Yet Steven did amazingly well.
Spielberg was born December 18th, 1946 in Cincinnati Ohio. His family moved several times and most of his childhood was spent in Arizona. He quit his high-tanking position in the Boy Scouts of America because they decided they were no longer going to accept openly gay scout leaders to participate. He then donated $100,000 to the program proposition 8, whose aim was to defeat the ban on gay marriage in California he stated “By writing discrimination into our state constitution, Proposition 8 seeks to eliminate the right of each and every citizen in our state to marry regardless of sexual orientation. Such discrimination has NO place in California’s constitution, or any other.” ( Kenshaw, 2012)
