The thesis for the talk was that everything that we enjoy today, has a connection to its origin. Johnson argues that inventions aren’t always designed for its intention. We often times end up with life changing inventions by something as simple as a flute made from animal bone.
Steven Johnson was arguing that not all inventions come from serious concentration. Some inventions can result from simply creating something for fun. He gives the example of how modern-day computers went through their transformation from musical keyboards. That is a prime example of how something that was created for the arts, has transitioned into something
