Seaworld is a billion-dollar company that profits from the abuse and torture of animals. This company may seem ethical to the naked eye, but one simple Google search can lead you to uncover the horrifying truth about this company. Seaworld needs to be stopped. They abuse their animals with small tanks, little food, psychological damage, and sexual abuse. Seaworld not only abuses their animals, but also lies to the general public to justify their actions. Seaworld needs to be banned because of the cruel abuse of its animals and trainers. The first of many steps that Seaworld takes to obtain their animals is splitting up families in the wild. They go out in boats into the Arctic Circle to collect their Orca Whales and throw bombs and cast nets to try and collect …show more content…
The rest of the community of orcas cried and screamed around the boats collecting their young. A former worker who helped collect some of these orcas said, “When you understand what you are doing, Ugh, I lost it. I mean, I just started crying. I did not stop working, but I just could not handle it.” This company is kidnapping these innocent whales. When the baby orcas grow up in these tanks and have offspring of their own, the company will transport their babies to different Seaworlds across the country. In the wild, orcas stay with their mom for 3-5 years and stay in the same community for the rest of their lives. But Seaworld takes the babies away in just 1 year. In one case, a baby orca was taken from the wild and died only six years later. Another example is when they abducted two polar bears and kept them in the same enclosure for 20 years. After separating the two polar bears, Szenja, the male polar bear, died because of his isolation. Once they deliver these animals to their designated Seaworld, they are put into small tanks. These tanks for orcas are only 34 ft
