Initially the protests did not have any specific goals but the civil rights. But later on the black community decided to have a fair civil right constitution for them. Black power had different meanings of their words for different people (Graham, 2014). Black power and civil rights movement had so much in common regarding non-violent rights. Black people wanted to boost up their position in country both politically and economically. Both the groups got united and fought for their rights.
The main philosophy behind this war or protest was to achieve pride and respect for black community in the country and to get them the rights which they deserve. Opposition of these two groups wanted them to be separated and they wanted the black and white issue to be remained unsolved. Lack of proper civil rights philosophy impacted the govt. badly and the need of civil right philosophy was fulfilled by giving the black community the rights which they deserved. References
