Community policing was introduced in korea during the Grand Reform in 1999(Kang, Nalla, Chun 2014). Community policing has been implemented throughout the world like the Middle East(Lebanon), Africa(South Africa, Gambia, Nigeria, and Asia(Afghanistan, Indonesia, India) but different definitions, philosophies, and strategies of community policing but share the core principles like South Korea which are created relations that communicate with the community, respond to citizens, and have organizational structures in departments philosophy and plan(Kang et al 2014). Since it takes 10-15 years for full implementation of community policing(Trojanowicz, Bucqueroux) it 's hard to study new versions of community policing but South Korea has recently hit this 15 year mark which makes it a prime country to study. (Kang et al 2014) Showed college educated officers were more supportive of community policing and motivated to be promoted in the department. Patrol officers, officers with more experience, females, and officers in their 50s all had more positive attitudes towards community policing compared to detectives, new officers, male, and young officers.
