Life insurance is defined as protection against the loss of income that would result if the person who bought the insurance passed away (definition citation). Life insurance is normally purchased by adults and saved for many years. Now what if an adult, instead of purchasing the insurance for themselves purchases it for their child? This has been a big debate with parents, expressing their thoughts through the media, for years. What's the big deal, of parents purchasing life insurance for their children, though? Life insurance is the protection of a life that's lost. Parents shouldn't have to think twice about buying if for their kids, in the long run it will be a great help. Many parents agree buying insurance is the best way to be prepared in those situations. Now how is that a good way of being prepared? Say your child were to sadly die. Life insurance is usually used to cover financial expenses, replacing lost income. Most children however do not have income to replace. Unless that child is a child star and supports the family, which is a great reason for purchasing life insurance on them. Other children do however have funerals. The benefit can be used on funeral expenses, as well as unpaid medical bills (ProsandCons citation). Death is not the only reason to purchase life insurance on your children. There are many more noted reasons. One of the most popular debated points was if your child has the possibility to develop a disability. You never do know if your child will develop a disability or chronic illness later in their life. If that were to happen it is almost impossible to get insurance during that time period. Not to mention the premium cost will be lower for a child compared to an adult. The fact some diseases run in the family should make you seriously think
