Schools have the power to regulate what the child eats so even if this is not been done in the home, this is a start for the child and it is with the hope that the child will educate those at home with what they are being taught.
Health issues such as childhood obesity and diabetes can be eliminated by teaching the child about food and how it should be perceived. They will grow up making better food choices as they are made more aware and a child will live what they learn. Education is the key to implementing change and education begins as early as a child can receive the information in a way that they can understand. This policy is in effect in my immediate setting at work, our meal program is run by CACFP. This program first meets the needs of low-income families and families suffering from various disparities that are health risks
