Night was written by Elie Wiesel, a past Holocaust survivor and award-winning author. This memoir is about how Elie Wiesel survived the Holocaust. This book is very tough, straight forward, and does not leave anything out of his life and how he survived this horrible event in our history. His memoir is about how he survived the Holocaust, the many things that saved him from dying, and how much emotion and death he has seen in his life. His experiences changed his view of God throughout the book. In this story, during the beginning, he lived a normal life as a regular Jew that loved his religion and loved his local synagogue until one day he was taken from his home. That was the place he loved. During the story he lost hope in his faith (Judaism) from thoughts like “why am I in this situation” or “Why isn't the High God saving us”, these things made him question if he should trust in his religion, but later then he remains faithful and praises God for getting him out of that situation. …show more content…
When this happened Elie was thinking “Why isn't the high God saving us from this nightmare”, which made him question his religion. Another thing that made him question the religion that he loved as a kid and tried so hard to stay faithful and went to the synagogue all the time, was all the Jewish people being starved and rationed for just a tiny tiny crumb of bread that they all fought like animals for. Which was another reason why he questioned his religion and why he lost faith. Another experience that made him think about it and lose his faith was the change and
