According to Nietzsche’s ideas, in the beginning truth was simple, humble, and modest; but as higher culture began to topple over the past. But due to its slippery characteristic, truth is hard to grasp and thus consequences are given for the digging of knowledge by man. In the past technology was used as a source of protection, of gaining resources, and a sign of intelligence. Now in the present, technology is used as a toy as a symbol of wealth. The usage has drastically changed since the time of our ancestors. Alike to Nietzsche’s ideas in which the reason for this change is due to the progression in which man transition from the past into the higher culture of a more developed society. As the advancement of society became more apparent so did the increase of low self-esteem. The reason for this increase of lower self esteem is due to man’s understanding of the idea of a bigger man. By bigger man, I mean in which one man stands above another whether it be because of the person’s knowledge, fame, or even in this case wealth. Technology today is seen as a symbol for the advancement of humanity. The advancement we have made on developing technology in such an astounding speed is almost unbelievable, for example, the way we gather information. During the age of caveman’s they gathered their information through the surrounding taking in the details of nature. As we pass through time and end in the ancient civilization in which people began writing documentaries of the events that occur, scholar of the ancient world researched their information through countless readings of text in various language. Considering the technology we have today all we need is a push of a few buttons and enter it into the web search (Google) and the answer would be reviewed to us in a matter of seconds.
