Frederick Douglass had different ideas about slavery because he was a slave. He shared these ideas in his journal which later on became “Narrative life of Frederick Douglass, an American Slave”.They both were slaves and shred their idea about slavery very well to where people heard their word.The Civil War not only ended slavery, but ended how Americans defined freedom. Through the years more slaves learned to read and do math because they opened schools for colored skinned people. Black women were treated really bad. What impacted more to the society was that it wasn't only black women but, so did white women have unequal rights to men. Sojourner Truth gave a speech that impacted all women across America. She was a black female who fought for all women's rights not just black women. The speech was called “Ain’t I a Women” in that speech she talks about everything she went through as a mother and how she could do the same things a man can do “ I have borne thirteen children, and seen most all sold off to slavery, and when I cried out with my mother’s grief, none but Jesus heard me!
