Americans are still facing some racial issues today, there was a crossroads between these two ideologies during the 1960’s. Malcolm X's philosophy made more sense than Martin Luther King Jr.'s for America in the 1960s because it was better for the African American Economy, Encouraged Fighting Racism non-Passivly And called for Control of African American Education Systems. Furthermore, Malcolm X's ideologies would have made sense for America because of his non-passive approach to racism. He believed that if someone were to attack you for the color of your skin violently, then any retaliation is warranted. A reaction like this, as opposed to turning the other cheek, would arguably accelerate the civil rights movement because it would show that African Americans were not punching bags and were willing to do anything for what was right. or that old nonviolent talk– that man doesn’t hear that kind of talk. He’ll pat you on your back and tell you you’re a good boy and give you a peace prize.” (DOC I) This expert shows that African Americans that were trying to protest with non-violent talk were completely disregarded and treated as if they were completely insignificant, supporting the fact that in certain cases, you need to fight for what you believe in.
