I went on a journey of transformational leadership with my undergraduate team and it was fun and gratifying. During the project, I realized how important the Tuckman’s model and the learning from the Leadership challenge are in transforming six different individuals, with six different personalities and skills into one cohesive team and delivering a project successfully.
The experience began when I first met my team in the auditorium. I was the team leader of team 38 which comprised of two girls and four boys. I was anxiously waiting for my team below my team placard and finally they were there. After the introductory greetings, I took them to one of the common areas in the Alter Hall as I wanted to keep the meeting informal. I started the meeting with my introduction, telling them about myself, what I did prior to my MBA, what are my hobbies and why I am pursuing an MBA. After that, everyone introduced herself/himself answering the same questions as I did. This helped in breaking the ice and setting up a common ground to talk.
