Relationships Are Essential
Could you imagine life without having any positive relationship with anyone? Exactly. If you didn 't have a good relation with anyone, you would start to feel abandoned and lonely. In the book Of Mice and Men, John Steinbeck portrays that people need positive companionship in their lives. Relationships between characters are George and Lennie, Crooks, and Curley and his wife are all examples which lack the positives needed for each other 's mental survival and to have a strong relationship with their companion
One main conflicting relationship that is seen most in the story is between the main characters George and Lennie whose goals and dreams are disrupted by each other. Their relationship first started when George opted to take care of Lennie after Lennie 's aunt Clara died; George knew Lennie couldn 't survive alone with his mental disability. They have a conflicting relationship because Lennie as huge as he is can 't control his strength when feeling anything soft. When Lennie feels things so soft he can 't let go, and in one case he was holding onto a girls dress for too long and was accused of raping the girl when he couldn 't help it. Because of that, they are forced to leave their hometown and also find work on a ranch in Sacramento. Lennie gets George in trouble too because he can 't leave him so he has to deal with those problems too. George stays with Lennie because Lennie can 't…
