The American dream has been sold with false illusions to immigrants that are suffering in poverty countries. It’s sad to say that this false advertisement has gone on for many years. When immigrants hear about the American dream they fill up with hope in thinking about all the possibilities that will be offered to them when they arrive to America the land of the free. In having different opportunities that America can offer gives immigrants the chance to help their families back home with the living situation, bring in adequate food, and proving clothing. “…They were searching for opportunities to improve their lives and that of their families and they came to this country in search of the “American dream”(Rodriguez 10). Immigrants think that their American dream will come true with little hard work and perseverance. However, that is not always the case when immigrants decided on coming to America. In America there can be many more obstacles that immigrants have to encounter when arriving. This is when many immigrants realize that the America dream is not what they thought it was going to be when they were back in their home country deciding if to come or not. America throughout the years has created many new issues for immigrants. There is name calling for immigrants, stereotypes all kinds of immigrants, and myths about immigrants.
