The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, was written by Mark Twain and published in December of 1884. In The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, Huckleberry Finn starts off with Miss.Watson taking care of Huck, who eventually gets kidnapped by his father. Huck fakes his death and escapes from his father, while on the run he finds Jim a runaway slave who is being blamed for Huck 's death. Huck and Jim team up and start their journey on the Mississippi River, where Huck is faced with many difficult decisions and comes to terms with himself. In the beginning of the book Tom ran a gang, which Huck was in, and they talked about robbing and murdering people. During this time Tom’s gang attacked a class of kindergarteners and tried to steal their things but they ended up pretty much empty handed and disappointed. Though they never followed through with robbing and murdering people, the gang eventually fell apart. Huck has matured from that and it shows when Huck and Tom are reunited in the end of the book and make a plan to steal Jim back. Huck starts to become the leader and take control instead of following Tom 's lead.During the process of escaping with Jim, Tom gets shot, Tom insists on not getting a doctor, but Huck steps up and forces Tom to go. While at the doctors Tom and Huck lie to protect Jim, by doing this they are choosing their friendship and following their conscience over doing the right thing. Even though Jim gets captured again, Huck fights for Jim to be free and when Miss.Watson 's will releases Jim, Huck is relieved and finally what he has worked for, and what he went against society for happens. In the end if Huck would of not followed what his conscience was telling him, Jim may have never been free, and Huck journey down the Mississippi River with Jim would have never
