Luther King, and B.Johnson used ethos to strengthen the fact that they needed equal rights. In King's speech, Martin Luther King said that Abraham Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation freeing slaves and giving homes equality. This shows that King agrees with the equality Abraham Lincoln hoped for in signing the Emancipation Proclamation. In another instance King stated in his speech " When the architects of our republic wrote the magnificent words of the constitution and the Declaration of Independence, they were signing a promissory note to which every American was to fall heir." and President Lyndon B.Johnson focused on their claim in various ways. They did so by using ethos, logos, and pathos to give strength to their claim. Pointing out all those actions caused many to agree, and others disagreed. They were some of those who influenced the U.S to make changes so that African Americans and all those treated unjustly could have more rights. Their statements helped change many aspects of people's life's.
