When King arrived in Montgomery he witnessed segregation, such as the “Jim Crow” law being implemented, the law stated that the first four rows in public transportation were only available for whites. After seeing and experiencing racism King was inspired to make a change. He began by making speeches, and initiating peaceful marches to protest against the segregation.
