Taylor’s play God and the Indian reveals white privileges in the Canadian society. The author shows how white people have special privileges in everyday life. How many of you guys have actually gone to jail for what you’ve done” (69). In the worldview of the play, men has more advantage on job opportunity than women. For instance, Johnny exposes, “I figure it’s as good a place as any to make some money, and a lady’s gotta do something with her life or she ain’t a lady” (8). The above quote states that Johnny does not have a job and she is a beggar. This proves that women like Johnny has low social status and it is difficult for them to find a decent job. This fact further proves that the society is more favour male and discriminated female. There is another quote that proves in the world of the play, women have tougher life than men. On page 12, Johnny says, “I didn’t like the name you guys gave me. It had too many bad memories. So I decided to get a new one” (12).
