The foster place had a lot of children in it and they are considered a “family,” to one another until someone comes and takes them away. When the parents brought their adopted child back to their foster parent there was a joy in the air, and they were happy to see her again because she was a part of their family for a while. A blended family is a group of people with different parents, or one different parent. I live in a blended family with my sister being adopted from Guatemala. Also three of my younger siblings are half related to me, and I have an older brother who shares the same father but we have different mothers. In fact there are eight of us, and out of the eight only three share the same set of parents. So, I know all too well about blended families, and can relate to the sisters who are both adopted from China, but are not actually sisters. Growing up in a blended family can be difficult however, because sometimes siblings drift between parents, and sharing different parents means some siblings are only there for a couple days or one day in the week. In fact I took it as a slap in the face to China, and she was basically saying China couldn’t accomplish the Nuclear Family so some Americans had to step in and help them out. Though flawed in the way they China created nuclear families, they still, however, manage to succeed in having a father, mother, and child. Though only one child is allowed in China, unlike America, and I believe this is what the sign really hit on. As she was talking to Chinese people, and explaining her family life she mentioned her other daughter, and graciously the Chinese people listened to her, though it is kind of hard not to have the law in the back of the mind as she was talking about her family, I know the law was in the back of my mind through that entire scene. They’re many kinds of nuclear families as well. Some have a lot of kids, and some do not. Some spoil their children (which was a problem in China), and some do not. Nuclear Families come in all different shapes
