Sleep is essential for all human beings like oxygen. It helps to refresh body and mind after working throughout the day. However, lots of people suffer from sleep disturbance. Most of them are aware of the fact that insufficient sleep can cause physical and psychological problems. But, the causes behind their disturbed sleep are ambiguous to them. They are unaware that their everyday behaviour, some personal choices or any underlying physical illness could be one of the major causes of sleep disturbance. Using electronic media at night and chronic pain are two common causes of disrupted sleep cycle. These causes effect person’s sleep cycle and physical and psychological health as well.

Use of electronic media especially before going to bed is increasing among all age groups. Cain and Gradiser suggested that (as cited in Lemola, Gloor, Brand, Kaufmann, & Grob, 2015) use of electronic media in the evening may result in delay bedtimes, especially in children and adolescents. According to a study conducted by Kubiszewski, Fontaine, Rusch, and Hazouard (2014) noise and light from electronic media, namely, T.V, music gadgets, video games, and smartphones become the reason for sleep problems or inadequate sleep. For instance, smartphones are very handy to use in bed before going to sleep with so many features like videos, music, internet and applications like messenger, facebook. People spend a long time on phones in bed at night and sleep for a very short time. Sleep disturbance…
