Another threaten is macro- economic headwinds. The retail sales growth environment is the worst in over 20 years. The other is challenging Australian consumer credit market due to the David Jones’ card which exposed to the prevailing weak discretionary retail spending environment (David Jones Future strategic direction, 2013). However, they address these challenges with some strategic which are transforming into an Omni Channel Retailer, growing the store network, strengthening the core business. To invest in customer service and growth technology capabilities, David Jones transform into an Omni Channel Retailer. And they plan to open new department for growing the store network. Also, they try to focus on the core business as offing the best range of brands (David Jones Future strategic direction, 2013).

In the Porter’s 5 forces model is a strategy which identify the specific opportunities and threats of company.
