During the movie, Tiana’s dream is to one day own her own business. Tiana puts in the work ethic unlike many Disney princesses, to see her dream one day come true without the help in mind of a Prince charming. In a review by Josh Tyler on the website Cinema blend, he states “She never turns the lovesick waif who abandons herself to follow around a man... Tiana finds love on her own terms and makes her dreams come true not with wizards or magic, but with determination and effort.” The determination of Tiana throughout the movie explains what made it inspirational to young girls of a new generation. The movie was just not historical because it added an African American princess as the lead role, but because it demonstrated a different role of women that young girls would inspire. “Tiana is a resourceful, hardworking heroine who's a strong role model and is one of the first Disney heroines who doesn't have to be rescued by a man”(Jhoanna Robledo). Most young viewers mirror what they see in the make believe world such as the Princess empire. This illusion caused such a lack of work ethic to get young girls where they want to be in the real world. Imagination is the key when developing films for younger viewers but, young girls should imagine succeeding in what they believe through their determination and work
