We’re gonna have green corn an’ maybe a cow or a goat. He stopped, overwhelmed with his picture.”” Lennie, George, and Candy had their dream all planned out and now they just need to get the money to get there. They had a unique dream to fit their fantasy needs. Curley’s wife was also another person who had a unique dream but she came to encounter an obstacle. There are things that will stand in the way of you accomplishing your dream, which will set you back which causes more damage to your future plans.

Breaking down this quote into parts, the first conflict creates action then action creates a character. First, conflict creates action means when there is a conflict people will often take action to stop the conflict. An interpretation of action creates a character is how an action can shape a character, and how others would judge or think about the character. The dream is described on page 6, “Someday -- we’re gonna get the jack together and we’re gonna have a little house and a couple of acres an’ a cow and some pigs and----.” This is naïve of Lennie to think, because the perfect future does exist, and Lennie keeps driving them away from their dream with his own naïve accidents. For example, Lennie and George had everything laid out for them in Weed to earn money and buy their own land, until Lennie makes a naïve decision to pet a woman’s dress on page 11, “She yells and we got to hide in a irrigation ditch all day with guys lookin’ for us, and we got to sneak out in the dark and get outta the country. All the time somethin’ like that – all the time.” Lennie and George then were forced to relocate to somewhere new to start over.…

The American Dream is a term many use to describe what they want out of America. The dream varies from person to person; however, there are many basic conditions that are generally accepted as parts of the American dream. Depending on the individual, the dream may or may not include these basics: a happy wife, two children, and a dog, who gather around a dinner table at six o’clock to stuff their faces while the dog waits patiently for table droppings. For some, the dream is to be a homesteader in a tiny home, but this dream is rare, as an individual can see by looking at the ratio of homesteaders to suburbanites and urbanites. While for many, the dream is becoming plagued with material things as time goes on, like a big house in an overdeveloped…
